HAVE YOU ever lacked confidence in using your talents, abilities and
spiritual gifts for ministry?
1 Timothy 4:14 says, "Use the gift you were given when the
prophets spoke and the group of church leaders blessed you by placing
their hands on you."
TODAY, I INVITE YOU to pray with me that our Native people and those
serving in Native Ministry will not neglect or abandon their talents and
spiritual gifts.
Acts 6:6-7 says, "These men were brought to the apostles. Then the
apostles prayed and placed their hands on the men to show that they had
been chosen to do this work. God's message spread, and many more people in
Jerusalem became followers. Even a large number of priests put their faith
in the Lord."
Ask our Creator to allow our First Nations people and those serving in
Native Ministry, to faithfully use their abilities, talents and gifts with
great courage.
ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES: Acts 6:2-7; Song of Solomon 1:6 NIV;
Matthew 23:23; Luke 11:42; Proverbs 8:33-36; Psalm 119:16-20;
1 Timothy 4:1-16;
Gal 4:14.
The phrase "turning from
faith" can also include 'neglecting' one’s calling, talents and
spiritual gifts. Our gifts of mercy, love, grace, forgiveness as well as
boldness, courage, faith, wisdom, discernment and confidence must not be
neglected. Our brothers and sisters are often afflicted with illnesses
that are physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. As we minister to
them, we need to use our gifts well.
