I believe that there is one eternal God,
Creator, who is my Spiritual Father who exists in three persons, the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God, the Father, is the Creator of
the earth and everything upon it, in it, and surrounding it. These things
include the contents of the Heavens, stars moon, sun and all else in the
vastness of space, even space itself. It also includes all of creation
such as the earth itself, all animals, the ones that walk and crawl upon
and through the earth, birds that fly above the earth, and plants, the
waters upon the earth, the seas, oceans rivers, lakes, streams, and all
that live in the waters. The last two things He created was man in His
image, then He created woman. After creating the first man and woman He
expressed His pleasure. He created all these things at His own will and
ever since He created all of this He alone has sustained it. For if it was
not His choice that it continue there is nothing any human could do to
continue its existence.
I believe that Jesus Christ is the only
begotten Son of God, that He came from a virgin birth, lead a totally
sinless physical life. He died and was buried, and after three days He
rose again and ascended into Heaven and will return to earth to judge all
the living and dead. I believe Him to be called by many names such as the
Great Shepherd, the Chief Shepherd, the Bright Morning Star and many other
names that people have given Him with love and respect. However, in the
Word of God He is more often called Jesus Christ. I believe that His death
upon the cross was in place of our sins, that He died once for all who
choose to accept Him as their personal Savior. I believe that God had
always planned to, and did use Him for this purpose. It was by this act
and His resurrection that He broke the power of death making a way for all
people to have a loving, personal relationship and to live eternally with
God our Father, our Creator.
I believe the third person of the Trinity
to be the Holy Spirit and that this person of God dwells in each believer
from the time they accept Christ as their personal Savior. By the Holy
Spirit the believer is able to live the life God wants us to live, one
that should be measured by the life of Christ. We can never hope to live
up to Christ but should always strive to do so. The Holy Spirit allows us
to grow in our Christian life and be fruitful, bringing others to Christ
as He instructed us to do.
I believe that while God did create the
first man in His image that the man and woman sinned, thereby alienating
them and all future generations from God. Every human suffers this
alienation today. It is only by faith and trusting in Christ for salvation
can we remove this barrier and walk with our Creator.
